Dan Pogue's animal and wildlife sculptures have won many awards for over 3 decades. They have been
used for awards for "Ducks Unlimited", the Cedar Park Library, and the Texas Medical Association.
Pogue's new series of animals, mostly African, are done
with a contemporary flair. Pogue uses shapes and spaces to make the form of
an animal. Some shapes are polished bronze areas, some are open negative
spaces, and others are bright colors with patina. The series was inspired
by finding a unique way of using patterns of shapes and open space that
overlap. Most are on steel pedestals suitable for outside areas.
